Peace

A great calm presides.

Sunshine billows in, and the hardwood sings a glowing red.

A distant lawnmower drones steady and stoic, igniting memories long forgotten.

A smile emerges from the still, and a myriad of melodies tumble into one wordless, wandering hymn.

Afternoon light flows through the gently curling leaves, casting shadows on the bright oranges and the vivid greens.

A promise of a beautiful sunset is written in the clouds, the seal to my beautiful peace.

  1. I’ve edited this poem–Here is my originally posted version:

    A great calm presides.

Sunshine billows in, making the hardwood glow golden red.

A distant lawnmower drones steady and stoic, igniting equally distant memories.

A smile comes from a silence brimming with comfort, happy and still.

A myriad of melody cascades into a wordless hymn, an unspoken prayer.

Afternoon light flows through the gently curling leaves, illuminating the bright oranges and vivid greens.

A promise of a beautiful sunset is written in the clouds, the seal to a beautiful peace.
