Well, this summer, I had a post about summer just starting up, and here’s one for the partial close of it! Fall isn’t for a while, but the first day of school for us kids is in a week or so. It will be Lulu’s first day of kindergarten, and she is beyond excited, as you can imagine!
She just celebrated her birthday on the first of September, and opened lots of presents. She has been looking forward to her birthday for a long time!!

A big present that Lulu got was a miniature easel with a board that was a chalkboard on one side and a whiteboard on the other side, and drawing paper she can roll overtop. She loves it! Another one of her presents was a little mermaid tail pen (which she loves), she’s always volunteering it up to be used by other people, which is really sweet. She gave her pen to me in the middle of the Wednesday night reading meeting and said I could take notes with it instead of the pencil I was using š

Lulu had a fancy waffle and whipped cream breakfast (with sprinkles and strawberries!!!) and sausages on her birthday. We even set the table up with unicorn plates and napkins, and some balloons š At lunch time we all enjoyed some ice cream cake, and we’ll have a birthday dinner celebrating both her and Pixie’s birthday on Saturday, since it’s hard to do a traditional Csanyi kid birthday on a Wednesday.

Since Saturday (Pixie’s birthday) is going to be super busy and already isn’t only for Pixie, Mama and Daddy decided to celebrate Pixie’s birthday one day early, so she could have a special day just like Lulu did. So she went to bed tonight thrilled about her birthday celebration for today (September 3), even if it’s not on her actual birthday. She is about to turn two years old, I’ll update on how her day goes!
I don’t think I ever posted anything about PC’s birthday. He turned fifteen at the end of June, and HIS big present was the bagpipes!

If that isn’t a grand gift, I don’t know what is! I had fun with his day presents, we made a treasure hunt of verses, where he had to look up a verse and then go look in the spot that it hinted at. We did around 1 to 3 a day. It had a few hitches, like I wrote the wrong reference or I didn’t write it clear enough, but overall it went smoothly and PC enjoyed it. He kept wanting to do a bible verse treasure hunt when it was Ricka’s birthday, so I knew it was something he would enjoy!

Back to the subject of school. Because we moved partway through the school year, we continued going to the same highschool, even though it was out of our catchment (cachment?) zone, but this year we have to go to the school in our zone, so Emma, PC and I all have a new school. The rest of the kids in school–The elementary ones–are going back to the old elementary school that we used to go to (before they were homeschooled this past year through covid and moving) because my parents really liked it and the kids have a connection there. School is still happy to take them because it is a small school, and my siblings are known to them. I can’t remember if I’ve explained this here on my blog, yet, but I have explained it in the past to other people, so pardon me if I forgot and wrote it here for the second time!
So, Pixie will be left at home with Mama (and Daddy at work in his office downstairs), with no other siblings! I don’t know how she is going to handle it, but I think she will benefit from the one-on-one time with Mama. It will be an adjustment for sure! She’ll get to do fun things with her, so that’s good. Maybe they’ll go on little adventures while we’re away at school š
I hope this blog post finds everyone who may read it well. Be careful with the Coronavirus!
“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his land.” Psalm 95:6- 7
What a great post Hannah …
